Rural women protagonists in the daily life of Unexport

 In 2030 Agenda, Unexport

“Did you know…?
… A quarter of the world’s population are rural women who work as farmers, wage earners and entrepreneurs?
… A 25% reduction in the labor gap between men and women would mean an increase in world GDP of 3.9%? ” (1)

Under the motto “Rural women grow quality food for all people” we celebrate the International Day of Rural Women and value the leading role of farmers, ranchers, wage earners, garment workers, businesswomen, etc. in modern agriculture and in society, to continue claiming the same opportunities as men.
From Unexport the commitment to gender equality is maximum, as we already explained on March 8th on Women’s Day, collaborating with the promotion of activities together with organizations such as Adecco to integrate women into the labor market or to improve their conditions labor.

All these activities and participations are part of Unexport’s responsibility to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, “a transcendental path towards greener, more inclusive economies and stronger and more resilient societies” (2).

In particular, the Sustainable Development Goals that we can relate to this October 15 International Rural Women’s Day are 5 Gender Equality, achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; and 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all. In less relevance we find the end of poverty and the reduction of inequalities.
