Fiorina, the excellent and succulent superfood
Fiorina, is the last of the superfoods made in Murcia, which we are going to talk about in this space dedicated to products of high nutritional value.
It is a variety of cauliflower, the main characteristic of which is a pellet whose florets tend to spike without flowering. The peculiarity of fiorina lies in its sweet and smooth flavor, as well as its tender and crunchy texture, which allows it to be eaten grilled, sautéed, boiled, baked or even raw in salads or as a garnish.
Why do we say that fiorina is a superfood?
Due to its nutritional properties are excellent, two stalks of fiorina are equivalent to one of the five pieces of fruit and vegetables recommended daily.

How is the crop cycle in the Region of Murcia?
Two varieties are mainly used in the cultivation of fiorina, one in summer, from August to September, which performs better in high temperatures; and another in winter, from October to February, which responds better to low temperatures.
